FAR Board Vacancies

Board meeting

The FAR Nominations and Remunerations Committee (NRC) advises there are three vacancies on the FAR board, commencing 1 January 2023.

The FAR Nominations and Remunerations Committee (NRC) advises there are three vacancies on the FAR board, two independent terms and one grower representative term, commencing 1 January 2023. Each of the current encumbants, John Caradus (Independent), Mike Hedley (Independent) and Val McMillan (grower representative) are seeking re-appointment for a further 3-year term, but other nominations are also welcomed.

FAR Board Election Process

Board Member selection is entirely skills-based, and choices will depend on the Board’s current makeup and what skills or expertise are required from time to time. Board Members shall hold their position for a maximum of three terms of 3 years unless advised otherwise.

The Board will provide the Nominations and Remunerations Committee with a list of skills required by the current Board, and the NRC will call for applications for the roles available. Then, the Nominations and Remunerations Committee will compile the candidates and make a recommendation to the Member’s Council.

The Nominations and Remunerations Committee will forward the name(s) of the preferred candidate(s) to the Members’ Council for final approval at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

If you are interested in becoming a FAR Board Member as either a grower or independent representative, please contact, or send your application to:

David Birkett, Nominations and Remunerations Committee Chair

027 313 2768 or djbirkett@xtra.co.nz

Applications are to be received by Friday 21 October 2022 by 12.00 pm
