Key Points
- In all cultivars, except Quartet, the 1.6l/ha rate gave the best margin over PGR cost. In Quartet, higher rates of Moddus may give further increases in returns. On average, yield increased by 30kg per 100ml of Moddus applied
- In trials to date, application at GS32 (2 nodes easily found on 50% of tillers) gave the best response but delaying application by 10 days did not significantly reduce yield
- The addition of surfactants did not improve the yield response of ryegrass to Moddus
- Adding Opus to the Moddus resulted in small yield increases in a turf type and may be a useful method for early season stem rust control
- Increasing the amount of N applied late in a late flowering hybrid ryegrass did not increase yield
