FAR has received funding for a four-year Primary Sector Growth Fund project titled Integrated weed management in a world of herbicide resistance. As part of this project FAR are seeking growers interested in hosting a Long-Term Integrated Weed Management (IWM) monitor farm or trial site.
This is an opportunity to:
- Trial practical weed management strategies on your own farm
- Access the latest knowledge, tools and technical support
- Work alongside advisors and researchers
- Contribute to industry learning and innovation
- Improve long-term weed control and farm resilience
- Map troublesome weeds (HR) and develop a weed management programme
What's involved:
- Hosting a paddock or site that reflects your normal farm system
- Share relevant information, including: Crop rotation and paddock history, weed issues and management practices, input use and costs (herbicides, cultivation, etc.)
- Collaborating on agreed weed management practices
- Allowing monitoring, data collection, and occasional field days (1–2 per year)
- Participating over multiple seasons
