  • No 32 Tall Fescue Pgrs

No. 32 Tall Fescue PGRs

Feature placeholder

Key Points

  • The yield response of fescue to Moddus varied between cultivars with a greater yield response in Advance compared with Vulcan
  • The yield of Advance increased with an increase in Moddus rate (560 to 1420kg/ha)
  • The yield of Vulcan also increased as the rate increased but the yield increase was only 200kg/ha and there was no difference between the different rates of Moddus
  • Timing of application was important with yields 18% higher from the GS32 application in Advance than a GS39 application
  • Adding Opus increased seed yield at 400mls but not at 800mls/ha. Adding ammonium sulphate did not impact on seed yield
  • Increasing the rate of Moddus both delayed and reduced lodging. Adding ammonium sulphate enhanced activity in reducing lodging
  • Overseas, Apogee has performed well as a PGR in fescue
