Thursday 3 September, 11am - 1:30pm, Copthorne Hotel Masterton
Join FAR and visiting Danish weed management specialist Mette Sonderskov (Aarhus University) for a practical, interactive workshop exploring integrating non-chemical weed control to reduce herbicide resistance while maintaining profitable cropping systems. Hear about the latest international approaches and how these lessons can be applied on New Zealand farms.
Mette Sønderskov (Aarhus University)
Mette Sønderskov has worked with integrated weed management since beginning her Ph.D. at Aarhus University in 2008. Her research spans herbicide efficacy, the integration of non chemical weed control tactics, the use of decision support systems, and effective communication of IWM to advisors and farmers.
Her work with decision support systems focuses on practical tools for farmers, including selecting optimal herbicide treatments (Crop Protection Online) and understanding how cropping strategies can delay resistance development (DK RIM, Integrated Management for Ryegrass in Denmark).
